Sculpture to Live In...

The Octagonal Living Unit is our signature work. A twenty-foot, eight-sided bungalow designed as a getaway for a young couple, it functions just as well for a family of five. A sleeping loft overlooks the fifteen foot cathedral ceiling giving the OLU an open, airy comfort. The OLU is sited above a pristine lake at the foot of the Carolina Blue Ridge. all OLU photos: Chuck Hearon

The Coolwell Pavilion was designed for Amherst County's Coolwell Park at the foot of Virginia's Blue Ridge. The upper level provides spectacular mountain vistas, the lower level is designed for six picnic tables, shaded from the sun. The thirty-foot tower supports flowering climbers, the one-ton soapstone cup refers to the Native American heritage of the area and the eighteenth century waystation (the cool well) on the Stage Road to Charlottesville.
